Privacy Policy

This policy applies to kiddosnames.com. It explains what happens to your data when you visit, in plain language and without the usual padding.

The short version: there are no accounts, no logins and no forms on this site. We run no analytics and set no cookies of our own. What does involve your data is the advertising, and that is described in full below.

Visiting the Site

The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. As with any web server, a request is logged so the page can be delivered and the service kept secure and available. Such a log entry can contain your IP address, the page requested, the time of the request, the referring page, and your browser and operating system version.

We do not use this data to build profiles and we do not combine it with anything else. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating and securing the site, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR.

Our hosting provider is Cloudflare, Inc. Delivery through a global network means a request can be handled by a server outside the EU, including in the United States. Cloudflare's data protection information is available at cloudflare.com/privacypolicy.

Advertising: Google AdSense

This site is financed by advertising and carries Google AdSense on every page. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.

To display and measure adverts, Google and its advertising partners use cookies and comparable technologies, and they process data such as your IP address, the pages you view here, your device and browser, and your interaction with the adverts. This makes it possible to serve you adverts based on your interests and previous visits to this and other websites, and to prevent the same advert being shown to you repeatedly.

If you are in the European Economic Area, Switzerland or the United Kingdom, Google presents a consent message before personalised advertising cookies are used. Your choice there is the legal basis for that processing, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, and you can change it at any time through the same message. Where advertising is served without such consent, it is limited to non-personalised adverts, which still require a cookie for frequency capping and fraud prevention.

Google acts as an independent controller for this processing. Details are set out in Google's information on how it uses data from partner sites and in its privacy policy. You can adjust or switch off advert personalisation at adssettings.google.com. Google also transfers data to the United States; it relies on the EU standard contractual clauses and the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for those transfers.

What We Do Not Do

The ranking data the site displays is loaded as a single file from our own domain. It contains only names, ranks and years, nothing about you.

Writing to Us

If you send us an email, we process your address and whatever you write in order to answer you, on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR or, where your message concerns a contract, Art. 6(1)(b). Correspondence is deleted once it is no longer needed and no retention obligation stands in the way.

Your Rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to access your data, to have inaccurate data corrected, to have data erased, to restrict processing, to data portability, and to object to processing based on legitimate interest. Where processing rests on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future.

To exercise any of these, write to [email protected]. Because we hold no account data, we may be unable to identify you in our records, which is a consequence of collecting as little as possible.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In Austria that is the Datenschutzbehörde, Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna, dsb.gv.at.

Children

This site is about baby names and is written for adults choosing one. It is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If what we do changes, this page changes with it. The date at the top tells you which version you are reading.
